DETAILS

BASINOX 308H is a basic coated electrode for welding austenitic, creep resistant steels with higher carbon contents, type 18%Cr - 8%N. The controlled ferrite content in the weld metal confers a high resistance to hot cracking with little sensitivity to embrittlement. Operating temperatures are between 400º-700ºC and the deposit is insusceptible to scaling up to 800ºC.

Features

  • Carbon content in the range of 0.04-0.08 provides higher tensile and creep strengths at elevated temperatures.
  • Slag solidifies quickly, covers the weld uniformly
  • Well-suited for positional welding.
